40,000 people attended Recovery Day in 2024, THANK YOU!
North America’s Largest Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Event!
Everyone is welcome to this family fun-filled event for all ages.
This huge street celebration includes 200 community booths from local businesses, artisans, and non-profit groups. There’s also great food from local Uptown New West restaurants, cafés, and food trucks, PLUS live music, and family-friendly activities.
“Recovery Day BC” is an annual event held in British Columbia (Canada) to celebrate recovery from addiction and promote awareness, support, and education around substance use recovery. It’s typically part of the broader Recovery Day Canada movement, which started in 2012 and has since grown into a national event.
What is Recovery Day BC:
-
Purpose: To reduce stigma around addiction, show that recovery is possible, and celebrate those in recovery.
-
Who attends: People in recovery, their families, friends, allies, healthcare providers, support organizations, and the general public.
-
Activities: Live music, speakers, info booths, wellness activities, community resources, and a general festival vibe.
-
When: September 6th, 2025, 12 pm to 5 pm, in line with National Recovery Month in Canada and the U.S.
It’s kind of like a cross between a health fair and a celebration — part advocacy, part education, and part party.
